Misunderstandings on Panic Buttons

Misunderstandings on Panic Buttons

We have been receiving a large number of calls concerning panic buttons
on your alarm systems.

There is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding concerning panic buttons,
as most people are under the impression that a panic button goes directly to the Police.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE, AND IS INCORRECT

We thought it would be a good idea to advise and try to clarify what happens
when you press your panic alarm.

All Panic Buttons when activated transmit an alarm event to Golden Electronics
Control Room NOT to the Police, from there our operators will identify the location
and appropriate action that is required to be performed.

This may be to contact the Police to attend immediately or to contact a nominated
person depending on your requirements and procedures that you have put in place.

Brief Example:

When you activate / press your panic alarm / button the below steps are taken immediately

1.    Golden Electronics receives a panic alarm with your details / premises
2.    Golden Electronics operators will follow the instructions you provided
– In most cases to contact and alert Police (we do not call you)
3.    Police are advised of situation and respond

Here is a silly question….
When was the last time you tested you Panic, Medical or Fire Alarm,

Do you know

  • Where they are
  • How to use them
  • If they still work
  • Are the batteries flat

As always if you require any further information or have any questions,
please feel free to contact Golden.
